Tete Jaune – Valemount BC Mountain Wedding
Alyssa and Nick’s wedding took place with the scenic Rocky Mountain backdrop of the Tete Jaune, Mount Robson, and Valemount areas on a beautiful fall wedding day in September. We always have such a great time with out of town weddings, and this was one of those wedding days that reminds us why we love being wedding photographers. Such a happy couple, with supporting and loving families, in a magical setting where there is just not enough time to take all the photos we would like to. We seriously could have kept going for days and days, but of course there is always next time! Congratulations once again to Alyssa & Nick, and thank you so much for letting us be a part of your amazing wedding day!
The day started early for the girls with a trip to the Unique Boutique Salon & Spa in Valemount for their hair & makeup. From the salon the girls headed over to The Glacier Inn to finish getting ready. What a perfect location it was with an open floor plan and huge fireplace.
Meanwhile, the guys went for a relaxing breakfast before heading back to the wedding ceremony location at the Tete Jaune Lodge along the banks of the Fraser River. There were still a lot of last minute details to work on at the ceremony site, and they did a great job putting the finishing touches on the decorations and arbour. Such an amazing scenic backdrop for a wedding!
Here are some photos from their beautiful mountain wedding day:
From there it was time for the newlywed couple photos – which is always our favourite part of the day. We had scouted ahead of time around the Tete Jaune area looking for the perfect wedding photo locations. They had provided lots of time and wanted to try out a few different locations for their photos. Our first stop was a beautiful field with an amazing view of the Rocky Mountains in the background. The wind was blowing and we could see the clouds moving in fast, but it all just helped add to the amazing atmosphere of the day.
With the rain moving in we had to make a quick change of plans, so decided to head towards the Mount Robson, with a few stops along the way in an enchanted mossy forest along the river, an amazing wooden wall, and then to the site of their romantic proposal during a previous camping trip. But by this time the rain was coming down pretty good, and it was time to head back towards Tete Jaune for the reception. But on the way back the skies started to clear and the sun came out. Someone had just made a comment that it would be awesome if we could see a rainbow, when suddenly it appeared behind us in the car mirror! We were very excited to pull over, and ended up capturing some of our favourite photos from the entire summer. What an amazingly perfect mountain wedding scene it was!
Their wedding reception was held at the Tete Jaune Community Hall, which is the type of wedding venue we always love to photograph in. It’s a decent sized venue with plain white roof and walls. And they did a great job draping fabric under the lights to make a great diffused light atmosphere. It was the perfect location to cap off an amazing day, and DJ Ant had the place rocking as everyone danced the night away.
