We first met Melanie at the Storybook Wedding Bridal Expo in January of this year, she liked our work and she called us afterwards to come and take some newborn portraits of her sweet little girl, Leighton (such a pretty name!). We are also looking forward to also shooting their engagement session in the spring and their wedding this fall.
We met with Melanie and Blake at their house in Prince George and took over the living room which was the perfect location for photos, with a nice big window in front of the couch. We had a lot of fun throughout the shoot, posing Leighton with all the different props. Melanie made the amazing angel wings in the first photo – perfect for her little angel…Leighton was very well behaved throughout all the moving and posing. She seemed mesmerized by the shiny lens.

Kristen & Andrew were married in April 2011 at the Pineview Hall in Prince George, BC.
It just happened to work out that their wedding day was the same day we flew back to Prince George from our latest trip to Maui (we went back for our third anniversary – which you can read about on our travel blog if you like). Kristen is Dan’s cousin, so we had just planned on attending the wedding as guests. We couldn’t to commit to being their photographers, since we weren’t even sure if the plane would make it back to PG on time.
We flew overnight from Maui-Vancouver-PG. There were no delays, and we even caught a bit of a tail-wind. So we ended up getting home at about 11am. There was just enough time to have a quick bite to eat, get cleaned up, and head to the wedding – which started at 1pm on the outskirts of town.
They had not booked a photographer, so we took a few photos during the ceremony and then took them outside for a quick newlywed session before dinner. We were quite happy with the results, despite the jet-lag and lack of sleep. Although we didn’t stay long, and headed home soon after dinner to catch up on some much needed sleep. It was definitely an eventful day that we were happy to be a part of.
Another great day that we were happy to be a part of. You can Contact Us Here if you would like to discuss the plans and vision for your own wedding day, whether it’s here in Prince George, throughout BC or Alberta, or wherever else you might be.
Hope to hear from you soon!
We were excited when Katherine and Luis approached us about photographing their wedding. They were planning to get married in February, so the challenge of shooting a winter wedding was very intriguing. It was a great day and we were very happy with the results:
Shauna met with Katherine and the Bridesmaids at the salon the morning the wedding:
From there it was on to Katherine’s mothers house, where Shauna captured some of the colors and details of their wedding day:
From there it was on to the Central Fellowship Baptist Church for the ceremony:
We had hoped to get a lot of outdoor winter wedding photos. But it was snowing pretty good the day of the wedding, so we headed to UNBC with the family and bridal party.
We captured this photo of the Father of the Bride carrying the flowers into the cafeteria entrance at UNBC. The limo driver was helping out with her umbrella, although it might have been snowing to hard to make a difference…
UNBC was a great location, and we had a lot of fun up there with the happy couple and their closest friends.
