Marnie & Alejandro’s Farm Wedding – Prince George BC

Marnie & Alejandro were married on a beautiful summer day in the barn at the bride’s family farm near Prince George BC. We first met them while photographing her sister Megan’s wedding last year as they were latin-dancing across the dance floor. We were secretly hoping they would get engaged and that we would get to photograph their wedding as well. Many of Alejandro’s family came all the way from Spain to enjoy the wedding. They added so much celebratory energy with all their colourful outfits, and added to the overall excitement of their wedding day.

Their ceremony took place in the barn with a stunning backdrop of floral hoops and arrangements by the talented Melissa of Something Blue Floral Design. From there the guests enjoyed a variety of lawn games, before the speeches out on the deck, sabering of the champagne bottles, a delicious dinner of salmon & blackened chicken catered by Earl’s Restaurant Prince George for their tent reception, and then back to the barn where everyone danced the night away as the smoky skies created an orange sunset in the background.

Brittany and Tyler – Maui

On our recent Maui vacation we met up with our fellow photographer friends Brittany and Tyler to do a photoshoot. The first location that came to mind was one of our absolute favourite places anywhere – the magical enchanted rainforest along the Maui coast! Shauna made the beautiful tropical flower crown, and we packed a few dresses from our collection to use for the photoshoot, but we knew the flowy white wedding dress from Storybook Wedding would be the perfect choice.

On the day of the session we met Brittany and Tyler for lunch at one of our favourite restaurants on the island of Maui – Coconut’s Fish Cafe. If you are ever visiting Kihei you have to try this place. The Fish & Chips and Fish Taco’s are simply amazing! Just thinking about them makes us want to book a return trip!

Our first of three photo locations was a family photo session at one of our favourite beaches with a spectacular view, soft sand, and amazing clear water. The light was just right and the waves were incredible… we were wishing we had brought the boogie boards along to have some fun. These three could not be any cuter… what an adorable family!

Before long it was time to head over to the enchanted Maui rainforest. It’s one of those dream locations where we have always wanted to photograph a session, and has been at the top of our photography bucket list since the first time we visited back in 2008. It’s such a magical place and is like nothing else we have seen before. It was so much fun to finally do a session there and we are definitely looking forward to making a return trip some day as well. The results were even better than we could have ever imagined.

We also wanted to take advantage of the scenic cliffs above the coastline, so made the quick trip up the highway. These ended up being some of our favourite photos from the entire trip. The wind was blowing her hair perfectly, with the waves crashing below, and the scenery in the background was simply breathtaking.

As the light faded it was time to head back for dinner. We stopped in for a delicious pizza dinner at Fabiani’s in Wailea. It was the perfect end to an amazing day – one of our favourite days from the entire trip. Thanks so much to Britt and Ty for being such amazing models. We can’t wait until our next Hawaiian Adventure whether it’s a return trip to Maui some day, or our next likely destination on the island of Kauai.

Erika & Jason’s Prince George BC Backyard Wedding

Erika & Jason came all the way from Calgary to get married in a beautiful backyard wedding in Erika’s hometown of Prince George BC. Their wedding was full of gorgeous details, soft romantic colours, and even a had a food truck with midnight snacks from the great wedding caterers at the White Goose Bistro. Their enchanting wedding ceremony took place in a small city park near their house, before a beautiful wedding reception in the backyard. The amazing decor throughout the wedding day was done by Heidi at Settings Events, while the bridal bouquet from Princess Flowers was one of the most beautiful bouquet’s we have ever seen. Francois Lake British Columbia Wedding

Sonja and Cody’s wedding took place on a beautiful summer day at the Nithi Resort along the shores of scenic Francois Lake in the British Columbia Northern Interior. It was a small intimate wedding with approximately thirty friends and family. Sonja and Cody are from Prince George, but they spend time at the Nithi Resort every summer, so it was the perfect place for their wedding with the campground, the cabins, and of course the great scenery at Francois Lake. Sonja did a beautiful job personalizing the wedding details. We especially loved the wedding reception location between the two cabins with twinkle lights and the picnic tables for seating. Part of the reason we love being wedding photographers is that each wedding is so different and unique. When Sonja and Cody told us that their wedding location was going to be at the Nithi Lake Resort we jumped at the chance to travel somewhere new. Here are some of our favourite photos from their wedding day.

Cheryl & Desmond’s Wedding – Prince George BC

They had a traditional church ceremony, followed by an English High Tea reception at the Twisted Cork Restaurant. Kendra & Jarrett’s Wedding – Prince George BC

Here’s a look at Kendra & Jarrett’s wedding day in Prince George BC. Kendra did an amazing job of styling every little detail of their wedding. She chose such beautiful and classic colors – gray & soft pink, and some stunning Vera Wang bridesmaid dresses. Their wedding ceremony took place in the atrium at the University of Northern British Columbia, which has amazing natural light from the skylights. It was a beautiful ceremony filled with lots of happiness, and smiles all around. After the wedding ceremony it was time for some photos, with stops at Forests for the World and then down to Cottonwood Park. Their wedding reception was held at the Hart Crown Banquet Hall which is a great reception venue, and the food is fantastic! They even have catering from a favourite local indian restaurant, Dana Mandi, whose butter chicken is insanely good!! They have a prime rib option as well to make sure they have something for everyone. One of our favourite wedding dinner’s of the year!
