Rocky Mountain Helicopter Wedding
Vanessa and Nathan’s wedding day was one of the most amazing experiences we have been a part of, with their wedding ceremony at the Mount Robson amphitheatre (360 degree mountain views!), reception at the Tete Jaune Hall, and a helicopter trip to Mount Terry Fox for their wedding portraits at the top of the Rocky Mountains.
The girls were getting ready at the Glacier Inn near Tete Jaune, with lots of laughs and happy moments throughout the morning. Shauna even got to share her love of vintage jewellery with Vanessa and her bridesmaids, as many of them had beautiful heirloom antique rings that Shauna was more than happy to take photos of for them.
Meanwhile, the guys were getting ready at the Valemount Retreat, but not before heading out to Mount Robson to put up the wedding signs to help make sure the guests could find the ceremony location at the Robson Shadows Amphitheatre. There was low lying clouds on the day of the wedding, so Mount Robson wasn’t visible in the background, but it didn’t take away from a truly amazing location with mountain views in all directions.
After their wedding ceremony we headed down the hill to the Fraser River for some bridal party photos which was a beautiful clear mountain green-blue – a fantastic backdrop for some wedding photos. From there it was a quick trip back to Valemount where we met our pilot at the Robson Helimagic helicopter base for the flight up to the top of Mount Terry Fox. It had snowed a few days before and while it had melted down along the highway there was still snow on the ground at our photo location, which only added to the beauty of it all. Other than the wind it was completely silent up there, and with views in all directions it was definitely one of the most amazing experiences we have been a part of. We all took a moment at the end to soak it all in before heading back down.
By this time all the guests had arrived at the Tete Jaune Hall for the wedding reception, and were waiting outside for the grand helicopter entrance as we descended upon the hall. From there it was time for dinner, and then on to the wedding speeches which involved a number of heartfelt moments during speeches along with a very entertaining freestyle rap from the bride’s sisters. Before we knew it the dancing began and everyone had a great time dancing the night away. Here are some of our favourite photos from a truly fantastic wedding day. Thank you so much to Vanessa & Nathan for having us there to be a part of your day!

Golden Ears Park Engagement
Our latest photo adventure took place at Golden Ears Park in Maple Ridge, as we met Marnie and Alejandro for their engagement session while we were in Vancouver for a quick weekend getaway. We fell in love with this location immediately and knew we had to use it for a session. There are just so many possibilities with all hiking trails throughout the amazing cedar trees, and so many beautiful shades of green in every direction. It’s always so much fun to explore a new area full of wonderful new possibilities, and this place is certainly one of our favourites. We had so much fun with these two… walking the trails, discussing the plans for their wedding, hiding out from the rain, and of course lots of dancing. Here are some of our favourite photos from their romantic engagement session in the forest:
Congratulations once again to Marnie & Alejandro on their engagement! We can’t wait for their wedding coming up in Prince George later this year. Sunnyslope B&B Wedding at Cluculz Lake
Vikki & Jonathan were married on a beautiful summer day with their wedding ceremony at the Sunnyslope Bed and Breakfast at Cluculz Lake, and their wedding reception at the Hart Community Centre – one of our favourite wedding recption venues in Prince George, BC. We first met Vikki as a bridesmaid during the second wedding we had ever photographed back in 2011. Over the years we have grown much closer with a few photoshoots, lots of time at Starbucks, and even a trip to Jasper for their engagement session. So we were pretty excited that she was the bride for our 50th wedding.
The morning began at theΒ Sunnyslope Bed and Breakfast where the girls had spent the night. Vikki raved about the B&B’s owners who went all out on a fullΒ gourmet breakfast for the girls. There were so many great moments and lots of laughter throughout the morning. Vikki’s hair was done by Cassandra atΒ Hairplay Studio and her makeup by Laura Heagy – Special Occasion Stylist, with an amazing job done by both of them as always. Before long it was time for Vikki to put on her beautiful bridal gown, purchased at the Gallery Bridal Boutique in Prince George.
The ceremony took place indoors at the picturesqueΒ Sunnyslope Bed & Breakfast overlooking Cluculz Lake. They have a beautiful curvedΒ staircase where Vikki was able to walk down and see her groom for the first time – such a magical moment. For their bridal party and newlywed couple photos we headed back to Prince George with a stop at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park (Ft. George Park), before heading up to the Hart Community Centre for their wedding reception. The in-house decor team at the Hart Community Centre is amazing at bringing a wedding couple’s Pinterest dreams to life, the service is always fantastic and the food is always delicious – such a great place for a wedding. Here are some of our favourite photos from their wedding day.
Congratulations once again to Vikki & Jonathan! If you would like to contact us about photographing your own wedding please let us know using the contact form below. We still have a few dates available this summer and would love to hear from you regarding all of your wedding plans – whether you are engaged, getting married, or just want some photos of yourselves. We have another busy summer planned, with weddings and sessions throughout British Columbia, including trips to Vancouver, Smithers, Mount Robson, and Jasper so far. So please let us know if you will be visiting any of those areas and would be interested in getting together for a photo-session. Thanks for reading – we will talk to you soon!

Hart Community Centre Wedding – Prince George BC
Tanis and Blair had a beautiful winter wedding in Prince George BC with their ceremony at the Christ Our Saviour Church and their reception at the Hart Community Centre. The day began for the girls with hair and makeup at the Razor’s Edge Salon and Day Spa, while the guys met for breakfast at Blair’s parents house. Christ Our Saviour Church on the Hart Highway was a great location for a wedding ceremony, with a large skylight and windows that let in lots of natural light. For their bridal party and newlywed couple photos we headed to the forest for a romantic winter wedding setting. It’s been so mild this winter we weren’t sure how much snow would be left, but it turned out there was plenty of snow on the ground and the warm light from the setting sun was gorgeous through the trees.
From there it was off to the Hart Community Centre for their wedding reception – one of our favourite wedding venues in Prince George. Since it was a relatively small and intimate wedding, the reception was held in the smaller upstairs hall. This was our first time up there, and we were definitely impressed by the decor and ambiance. The Hart Community Centre decorating staff did an amazing job with the ceiling drapings, twinkle lights, hot chocolate bar, and antique wine barrels and furniture. And of course the food was excellent as always – one of the best wedding buffets in town.
After dinner it was time for the speeches. They had an open mic with so many amazing stories from their friends and family. There was even a hilarious version of the newlywed game, where one of the participants got himself in a bit of trouble with his wife when answering some of the questions, but he ended up redeeming himself by the end of the game with all the guests chanting his name! After that everyone danced the night away… it was such a fantastic day with so many wonderful memories. Here are some of our favourite photos from their winter wedding day in Prince George BC:
