Welcome to our Styled Session Page!

Here are some favourites from our styled collaborations taken across northern BC. These fun and creative sessions are a great opportunity to get dressed up and play! We have a collection of vintage dresses to choose from, with a variety of colours and sizes to suit you!

It’s been another amazing year for us at Northern Pixel Photography with our busiest year yet, so we were very excited to head out to the backcountry roads near Prince George British Columbia for some fun and adventure with our first waterfall session. We love planning these types of creative sessions, and this location has been at the top of our list for a while now.

It was almost surreal the day of the shoot to realize that it was finally about to happen… with so much planning and waiting for the perfect opportunity. But before we knew it the excitement was building even further as we were heading down the gravel road leading up to the falls. Even the trail to the falls was a sight to behold, passing through an amazing mossy forest with the stream running alongside it. We are definitely looking forward to visiting these falls again in the future, perhaps even for another photo-shoot! We met Matt & Kate at a small lake near Prince George BC for their romantic rowboat engagement session. It was the perfect early winter day, and the snowfall that morning made it even more magical with a background of beautiful snowy trees. Shauna made the amazing floral arrangement, with the leafy base from It’s Party Time here in Prince George. Trinity – Fashion Photography Prince George BC

Our latest fashion photography session in Prince George BC, with a beautiful young aspiring model named Trinity. She wanted a variety of poses to add to her growing portfolio. After our initial meeting to discuss the type of look she was interested in, we chose a more glamorous look, with dramatic makeup and lots of body jewellery. Laura did an amazing hair & makeup job as usual, and she was such an amazing help with the jewellery during this session. We found the perfect piece of body jewellery at Storybook Wedding, and then accented it with a few more pieces from Shauna’s collection. The results were fantastic and even better than we had hoped!

Lindsay – Fashion Photography Prince George BC

We absolutely love everything about these types of fashion photography sessions – from the time we start the planning to the time the finished product is delivered! And it’s always so much fun watching the amazing Laura Heagy work her magic during hair & makeup.

This time she wanted something with a bit more of an editorial type look, which was great since we got to use some different clothing from our collection, as well as one of our vintage dresses at the end.

Caitlyn

Catching up on some blogging today, so here’s another fashion portrait session in Prince George BC. These are some of our favourite types of session, and it’s always a pleasure to work with the amazingly talented Laura Heagy for the hair & makeup. Lindsay

We were very excited when Lindsay contacted us about a Fashion Photography Session for her modelling portfolio. We absolutely love collaborating with clients to create different and unique creative sessions… especially when the client loves vintage style and we get the chance to incorporate some of our antique props and collection of vintage dresses.

Shauna has always been into fashion photography and she often draws inspiration from magazines like Vogue, W, Bazaar, Glamour & Vanity Fair. Lindsay sent us a few photos of styles she liked, and Shauna took it from there to plan and customize the perfect session for her.

The day began at the hair & makeup studio of the amazingly talented Laura Heagy. Laura was excited about the creative possibilities as well, and did an amazing job on the hair and makeup for both styles.

We decided on two very different looks for this session. Lindsay’s first look was a vintage white lace & tulle dress, and a beautiful flower crown that she & her sister had made. The second look was a dark glam photo session in the forest, with much more dramatic makeup including dark smokey eyes, and a beaded black/gold vintage dress from our collection and some moss green silk-velvet.

We are very excited to share some of our favourite photos from this Styled Fashion Photoshoot with the beautiful Lindsay… it’s one of our all-time favourite sessions that we’ve done. We can’t wait until our next fashion photoshoot. We already have a few more booked, and look forward to doing many more in the future!

Fashion Photoshoot with TJ

Here are some of our favourite photos from our latest fashion photoshoot in Prince George BC, this time with two models who both wanted some photos for an upcoming modelling convention in Vancouver. TJ wanted two separate looks to get even more variety for her portfolio, so we did a more editorial look with lots of movement and jumping for the first look, and then a softer prettier 20’s inspired style for the second look. We definitely made use of our collection of vintage dresses, jewellery, and props for this session. And we finally got to make use of one of our fur capelets. The girls had so much fun looking through the rack and choosing their favourites. And Laura really outdid herself with the amazing hair and makeup.

Kailey

Here are some of our favourite photos from another vintage fashion photoshoot in Prince George BC, this time with two fashion models who both wanted some photos for an upcoming modelling convention in Vancouver. With the change in seasons we had to head indoors, so the PictureBox Studios in downtown Prince George was the perfect location for what we had planned. We brought a carload of vintage dresses and props from our collection. The girls had so much fun looking through the rack and choosing their favourites for the session.

Sandra & Werner

One of our favourite images from a recent night photo session with Sandra & Werner in Smithers, British Columbia. We photographed their wedding in April 2012, and have wanted to get together with them again ever since. A session with candles in mason jars on a dock at night was at the top of our dream shoot list, so on a recent trip to Smithers we packed up our mason jars, candles, & dresses and met them just outside of Telkwa at Tyee lake. Definitely need to do shoots like these more often!

Sandra was up for anything so we dressed her in a red velvet dress with a slit up the leg from Shauna’s collection of vintage dresses. Sandra & Werner have a wicked sense of humour and had us laughing the entire time. What a fantastic night!

Laura & Jordy

Laura is a dancer and makeup artist we use frequently for weddings (her work is amazing!). We were working on a photoshoot together for Canadian Living Magazine (photos from that one to follow soon) when she asked us about doing a styled maternity session. Laura wanted something darker and a bit different than the usual maternity photos, so after comparing creative inspiration Pinterest Boards and sharing ideas we decided on a date and location for the shoot. We even found a small baby carriage at the Antique Fair that fit right in with the theme. It was a morning session to take advantage of the foggy fall weather – helping to create the perfect atmosphere for the look we wanted.

Over the past year or so we have collected some beautiful vintage dresses in a variety of sizes and styles. We had been looking forward to using this particular dress, and met with Vikki this summer to take advantage of the beautiful lilacs. It was a stormy Sunday afternoon, and we got rained out by a wicked thunder storm just a half hour into the shoot, but the lighting was fantastic and Vikki was beautiful as always.

Jaclyn & Ethan – Winter Ballet Engagement Session

This is part two of Jaclyn & Ethan’s Winter Engagement Session in Prince George BC. As mentioned in the Previous Post, Jaclyn is a dancer and wanted to incorporate her pointe shoes into the session. We decided to head back to town and out of the forest for this part of the shoot. The fresh coat of snow that morning helped quite a bit with getting the look we wanted. They had been practicing their lifts the night before, which we put to great use. She also brought the white tulle for her tutu, and Ethan brought along a pretty awesome hat! It was a lot of fun despite the cooler temperatures, and we can’t wait for their wedding this summer – they have lots of creative and personalized ideas they are going to incorporate.

We first met Jacyln at the Storybook Wedding Bridal Expo back in January, and then met with her and Ethan a few days later to discuss their wedding plans and engagement session. We started out in the forest – the fresh snow in the trees was perfect for the shoot. And we even got a bit of sunlight shining through the trees! We were excited to find out that Jacyln is a dancer as well, and that she wanted to incorporate her shoes into the engagement session… more to come on that with Part 2 of their session tomorrow! They are such a happy and fun couple – we can’t wait to photograph their wedding this summer with all of their fun and creative ideas.

Vikki Part Two – Berman Lake

After Part One of our shoot with Vikki we headed out for a quick dinner break at one of our favorite restaurants in Prince George – Wasabi Sushi & Wonton House – which happens to be one of Vikki’s favorites as well! Definitely worth checking out if you are in Prince George. After a delicious dinner it was off to Berman Lake for a sunset photo-shoot along the lakeshore. The sun was just beginning to set when we got there, and made for some amazing light.

Vikki wore her sun-dress to start the shoot, and then changed into the beautiful orange dress that Shauna made for this shoot. Vikki looked amazing as always, and the setting sunlight sparkled against the orange fabric.

An awesome location, beautiful model, and the perfect end to the photo-shoot – what a spectacular day! We are definitely looking forward to working with Vikki again in the future!

Vikki Part One

We had a lot of fun with Vikki and David last fall, so it was very exciting when Vikki contacted us about another photo shoot. We met with Vikki the next day to discuss the shoot and share ideas on outfits, locations, and a variety of possible themes. Vikki has started singing since our Taylor Swift inspired photo-shoot in the forest, and she wanted another music themed session – this time by inspired another of her favorite singers, Carly Ray Jepsen.

Such a beautiful and talented artist, we look forward to seeing and hearing a lot more of Vikki in the future!
